The Spring Season, as you know, will focus on the Heir-apparent’s travels throughout the Empire during the Twenty Festivals celebrating his impending coronation. During this time, you – the player – know that something truly dangerous rests on the horizon. The Empire is on the verge of sinking into darkness, and it’s up to the players to secure the most iconic of their Clan’s artifacts, strongholds and the teachings of their samurai ancestors to light the way in the future.

In early May, we announced “To Do What We Must,” the interactive L5R novel slated for 2016, helmed by Robert “Spooky” Denton with input from fans just like you. Since that time, we’ve been looking for interesting ways to tie in what our fans are playing in L5R games into the story of the Novel. Currently, we are knee deep in the 2014 Fall Tournament Series, which is supplying us another point of interaction for the story.

Once the 2014 Fall Tournament Series is complete, we are going to take a look at the number of times each Clan was played during the whole tournament season. This means that each time you play your favorite Clan at one of these events, we add it to the count. At the end of the season, we will review which Clans saw the most table time and which Clans saw the least. This information will be used by Spooky to generate a key plot point in the Novel.

As the Second World War broke-out, the 30cwt truck was the standard British military truck. With a 1.5 tonne capacity, they were adapted and modified for use within a number of different roles – not only as carriers and tows, but a wide range of specialist modifications were produced in order to overcome all manner of battlefield conditions.

These figures can also be used for Egyptian armies of the First Intermediate period between the Old and Middle Kingdoms and the early part of the Second Intermediate period up to the native Egyptian 16th Dynasty of Upper Egypt.

Egyptian armies comprised equal proportions of archers and close combat fighters (axemen and spearmen), though they were organised into separate units. The archers did not engage in close combat but provided massed archery fire, softening the enemy lines, before the close fighters engaged the enemy in hand to hand fighting.

Scorecard Review – October 2014

October is one of my favorite months.  Not only is it the month when Halloween is but I usually get a lot of gaming is as well.  Unfortunately I was sick on Halloween and that made me late with this review.

In October I played 30 games at 10 events for an average of 3 games per event.  I was able to achieve my goal of player an average of three games per event.  I achieved that goal by playing games that were lighter than I normally do.

These kits represent the iconic buildings that formed pivotal strongpoints at the Battle of Waterloo – the chateau of Hougomont, Papelotte farm, La Belle Alliance inn and Plancenoit church as well as La Haye Sainte farmhouse (without all the miniatures included in our battle set of the same name), plus a windmill and a watermill.

While these kits are designed for the Napoleonic wars, they look at home on any European battlefield from the Pike and Shotte era through to World War II, especially as the larger sets are modular – Hougomont for example provides enough separate buildings to make a great game of Bolt Action!

Warlord Games Press Release - New: Bronze Age Early Egyptians

Reinforcements have arrived for Egyptian armies in the shape of four new Early Egyptian sets.

The armies of the Old and Middle Kingdoms of Egypt, which corresponds with the Early and Middle Bronze Age respectively. These figures can also be used for Egyptian armies of the First Intermediate period between the Old and Middle Kingdoms and the early part of the Second Intermediate period upto the native Egyptian 16th Dynasty of Upper Egypt.

Egyptian armies comprised equal proportions of archers and close combat fighters (axemen and spearmen), though they were organised into separate units. The archers did not engage in close combat but provided massed archery fire, softening the enemy lines, before the close fighters engaged the enemy in hand to hand fighting.

Wizards of the Coast today announced that for the first time, Magic 2015–Duels of the Planeswalkers is available for download on next-gen platform Xbox One. The game’s latest expansion, Garruk’s Revenge, will also release today on Xbox One, iPad via the iTunes Store, PC via Steam, Android via Google Play and Amazon Marketplace, with Xbox 360 coming soon.

Garruk’s Revenge puts the fate of Garruk Wildspeaker, the deadliest hunter in the Multiverse, in players’ hands. With four new Campaign levels and an expanded Explore level, players take on the role of Garruk, using his deck to battle their way through challenging foes.
