From the Steve Jackson Website
Steve Jackson Games is excited to announce a collaboration with the American Library Association to bring hundreds of games to libraries all over the world. International Games Day, a yearly event taking place on November 15, brings library patrons to their local libraries to play board games and card games, and to learn about games they've never played before.
This year, Steve Jackson Games is donating hundreds of copies of games – including Munchkin, Illuminati, Castellan, and others – to libraries participating in International Games Day.
"We're really excited about International Games Day," said Brian Engard, Assistant Marketing Director for Steve Jackson Games. "Libraries are important centers for community-building, learning, and gaming, and the chance to support something like this is something we knew we couldn't pass up."
Participants in International Games Day had this to say:
Thank you so much for continuing to put together this fabulous event! I have participated in the event for many years now and it is always a great success with patrons and a blast to put together. The donated games look incredibly fun this year and I cannot wait to share them with my patrons! Thanks again!
This is a great event – I believe in families playing games together – and love promoting this every year at our library.
Thank you very, very much for organizing this opportunity for our libraries. Tabletop gaming requires some facilitating to enjoy, and libraries can be the perfect place to find other like-minded players and instructors. I look forward to bringing the joys of tabletop games to my branch.
