Kings of Artifice
Kings of Artifice is a competitive, Euro-style game. In Artifice, the
player must grow and defend their kingdom with many different types of
followers, each with unique abilities and each capable of building
different types of structures, from houses, to walls, to a palace. The
King is central to the game, directing Villagers, Horses, a Knight,
Thief, Artisan, and Warlock to build the most impressive kingdom.
Together, they bring the player deep into Artifice with a complete
experience that allows different paths to victory depending on the
values of the player and the actions of their opponents. Much of this
also reflects our background in miniature games, where the player is
also given a selection of tools, and it's up to them to figure out how
they want to use them to achieve victory.
While the Artifice player has nearly endless options for how to proceed,
the mechanics themselves are simple and familiar. It really all comes
down to stacking wooden blocks, and doing so in the right places and the
right ways to make your kingdom the best! (aka earning the most victory
points!) The game comes with over 200 blocks that are used to create a
kingdom's buildings. The Spell cards and Scoring cards, which change
each game, create the changing goals and point conditions that make each
game different from the last and more fun to play by not knowing your
opponent's plans. The result is a simple and intuitive to learn game
that has a nearly infinite depth of game play and strategy.

Welcome to the public Avatar beta test! Included in this file is the avatar upgrade for each master in the game. Have a look, try them out, and give us feedback in the playtest forum.
We will update these cards based on your feedback, and a new version of
the file will be posted every Tuesday between 4 and 6pm PST. The rules
for avatar upgrades are on pages 56-57 of the big rulebook, so please
read them carefully.
