Warlord Games Press Release - New: Early Egyptian Spearmen & Retainer Axemen

These figures can also be used for Egyptian armies of the First Intermediate period between the Old and Middle Kingdoms and the early part of the Second Intermediate period up to the native Egyptian 16th Dynasty of Upper Egypt.

Egyptian armies comprised equal proportions of archers and close combat fighters (axemen and spearmen), though they were organised into separate units. The archers did not engage in close combat but provided massed archery fire, softening the enemy lines, before the close fighters engaged the enemy in hand to hand fighting.

Warlord Games Press Release - New: Bronze Age Early Egyptians

Reinforcements have arrived for Egyptian armies in the shape of four new Early Egyptian sets.

The armies of the Old and Middle Kingdoms of Egypt, which corresponds with the Early and Middle Bronze Age respectively. These figures can also be used for Egyptian armies of the First Intermediate period between the Old and Middle Kingdoms and the early part of the Second Intermediate period upto the native Egyptian 16th Dynasty of Upper Egypt.

A much asked-after Bronze Age war machine is now available – the Ugaritic Chariot!

Canaan and Syria in the Late Bronze Age consisted of numerous small city-states such as Megiddo, Kadesh and Ugarit, who were vassals or allies of the surrounding greater powers such as Mitanni, Middle Kingdom Assyria, New Kingdom Egypt or the Hittite Empire. The cities also either fought against each other for dominance in the region or often combined to form larger armies when necessary to defend their lands against more powerful aggressors.

Warlord Games Press Release - New: Later Egyptian Archers

These are the regular archers of the 19th and 20th Dynasties (Ramesside period), such as those that fought under Pharaohs Ramesses II, Ramesses III and later Ramesses up until the end of the New Kingdom.
These Archers fought against the Hittites and their allies at the famous Battle of Kadesh.
