Warlord Games Press Release - New: Waterloo Terrain from Sarissa Precision

New in from the team that created our La Haye Sainte and Pegasus Bridge terrain pieces, we have a whole range of incredible laser-cut wooden sets. These kits represent the iconic buildings that formed pivotal strongpoints at the Battle of Waterloo – the chateau of Hougomont, Papelotte farm, La Belle Alliance inn and Plancenoit church as well as La Haye Sainte farmhouse (without all the miniatures included in our battle set of the same name), plus a windmill and a watermill.
While these kits are designed for the Napoleonic wars, they look at home on any European battlefield from the Pike and Shotte era through to World War II, especially as the larger sets are modular – Hougomont for example provides enough separate buildings to make a great game of Bolt Action!

Following on from the Pacific buildings we released on Wednesday, we have 3 more laser-cut wooden buildings – a Radar Station, a Village Church and a Village Fountain. While the Radar Station is obviously a WWII piece – perfect for games of Bolt Action – the church and fountain look great in Black Powder and Pike & Shotte battles too.

We appreciate lately that some of you might not believe this but we do have other cracking rule systems besides Bolt Action!!
We have decided for the rest of January 2014, that is until the 1st February 2014, to offer a hefty discount on Hail Caesar, Black Powder and Pike & Shotte making these great rules sets even more accessible.
As we are really awesome at Warlord we have decided to also offer a discount on all the supplements too, that’s each of the Hail Caesar army lists, Albion Triumphant 1 – The Peninsular Campaign and Last Argument of Kings.
The Zulu! Black Powder supplement and Albion Triumphant 2 – The Hundred Days Campaign are not included as they are too new for this nonsense!!

Warlord Games Press Release - New: Dragoon Horse Holder

Dragoons used different tactics than Cavalry. They acted in a scouting role, capturing bridges and woods, and their horses were treated with care and protected from harm, being used for transportation rather than in battle. Their long muskets were impractical to fire from the saddle (and tended to spook the horses), so the regiment would ride into position before dismounting.
In the heat of battle the horses would be sent to the rear, along with one in four of the men. These ‘horse-holders’ would ensure the horses were sheltered from fire and prepared for swift mount up, whether to retreat or redeploy on the battlefield. They would either link up all the reins or just tie them to a convenient tree.
Just like the Dragoons boxed set,
Warlord’s Horse Holder can be fielded for either Royalist or
Parliament. You could add a bonnet which would make him perfect for
Covenanter armies too. He can also represent all sorts of mounted shot
for Thirty Years War armies.

Every year here at Warlord Games we release a special edition Halloween themed model to celebrate the spookiest night in the calendar. This year is the infamous Witchfinder General Stickler Mitchell and his young assistant Megan.
Mitchell comes armed with pistol and sword, and Megan is brandishing a short sword and a choice of pistol or hand held repeater crossbow.

The Gun Bastion is a a new, improved design:
- They now come in an all resin construction so a lot more durable than the previous scratchbuilt versions.
- The beefed up wooden pallisade and wooden gun platforms, give more definition for painting.
- The earthen banks now have a more realistic undulating surface.
- A new paint scheme has been designed for both wood, groundwork and static grass.

Warlord Games are pleased to announce we have purchased the Arsenal Miniatures 28mm ‘Revenge of Christendom’ range of figures from Andrea Magnani.
Paul Sawyer of Warlord Games, says “Whilst we are still supporting our large Thirty Years War and English Civil wars ranges we were keen to expand into new conflicts for Pike & Shotte. The opportunity to take over Andrea’s fledgling but beautifully realised range was an easy decision to make. We are looking forward to making these available soon and adding to the range in the future”.
Andrea Magnani, owner of Arsenal Miniatures, says “When Warlord approached me about my miniatures I was very pleased. Due to work commitments I have been unable to develop the range as much as I had wanted and Warlord Games have a track record of taking ranges on to the next level. I look forward to seeing the range grow!”.
