Fireside Games Press Release - T.A.B.L.E. Was a Blast!

From the Fireside Games Website

Last weekend had us up in Dallas for the first ever Tabletop and Boardgame Learning Expo. The expo was created as a way to expose non-gamers to all the fun that our hobby has to offer. We saw lots of new faces and a few old friends as we played demos with hundreds of other gamers.

In addition to all the games being played, the expo also featured tournaments, how-to sessions, a zombie “un-murder” mystery, and several panels, including one on game design that Anne-Marie and I were kindly included in. It was great to be able to answer questions and give out a little advice from all the things we’ve learned on our crazy journey.

On Friday night we had the chance to sit down and play a game of the latest version of Munchkin Panic with Steve Jackson himself. That was good fun and Steve was very pleased with what Anne-Marie has done to integrate his game and ours. “This is going to make a lot of people happy” were his exact words.

During the show we also had the good fortune to meet Kevin Nunn (designer of duck, duck, Go! and Rolling Freight) and spend some time with Keith Baker (designer of Gloom and the Eberron Campaign Setting). Meeting these two figures in our industry was a real pleasure for us, as not only did they both have great insights on games but they were genuinely fun to hang out with.

Tiffany did a great job putting the expo together, and it was a fantastic start to what we’re sure will be the first of many to come. We also wanted to thank all the volunteers who helped keep it running as well as the fans that came out to play, learn, teach, and generally be awesome!
