The 2014 convention season is finally upon us! Last month players flocked to the UK Games Expo, last week WizKids attended Origins Game Fair, and there are more great events to come such as the Mexico HeroClix Championship, the Spain HeroClix Championship, the Canada HeroClix Championship, Gen Con Indy and more!
As many of our fans know, conventions are a great opportunity to play for awesome prizes and purchase exclusive products, and WizKids is pleased to announce an all-new program designed to capture some of that convention lightning in a bottle for friendly local game and comic stores with the 2014 Con In Your Store program!
What is Con In You Store?
As its name implies, Con In Your Store brings the convention experience (except the long lines perhaps ; ) to participating friendly local game and comic shops by offering both desirable participation and competitive prizes as well as for-sale exclusives. There are three levels by which stores can participate in the Con In Your Store program, each with more content than the last, allowing stores to scale the in-store convention experience to the size they want.
This particular Con In Your Store program is an Alliance Games Distributor-exclusive program wherein stores purchase a quantity of designated product at different tiers and then receive, at no additional cost, their Con In Your Store kit(s), each containing a number of participation and competitive prizes, and for-sale exclusives. How does my store participate in Con In Your Store?
Stores must be registered in the WizKids Event System (WES) to participate in the Con In Your Store program. We’ve uploaded special event templates for both HeroClix and Star Trek Attack Wing specifically for this program, each with a “CIYS” prefix to designate them as part of the Con In Your Store program. The Con In Your Store kits will arrive in stores on July 30th, 2014. Stores can schedule their CIYS events in the WES now, and run them anytime between August 1st and August 30th, 2014. Scheduled CIYS events will show up in a special Con In Your Store search function within the WES, so players will be able to find participating stores based upon proximity to their location! BE SURE TO SCHEDULE YOUR EVENTS! Otherwise, your store may not show up when players look for a participating store. (click on image below to enlarge)
How does my store get the Con In Your Store kits?
Stores interested in the Con in Your Store program should speak with their Alliance sales rep and place an order for qualifying WizKids product. You can see the list of WizKids Qualifying Product here.
As we mentioned before, the Con In Your Store kits will arrive in stores on July 30th, 2014. As we mentioned before, there are three levels of the program: the “Big” Con In Your Store kit (SKU 71836), the “Huge” Con In Your Store kit (SKU 71837), and the “ENORMOUS” Con In Your Store kit (SKU 71838).
To receive the Big kit, stores must order $250 of qualifying WizKids product. The Big kit contains the following:
- One (1) 10 ct. brick of HeroClix Marquee figures for use as participation prizes
- Two (2) “Surprise and Delight” figures for use as First Place and Fellowship Prizes. “Surprise and Delight” figures will be randomly selected from a pool of convention and/or chase figures.
Here is a list of potential “Surprise and Delight” figures stores may receive in their Con In Your Store kits:
- DC HeroClix: White Lantern chase figures (Superman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Green Arrow, Ice, the Flash, Bart Allen, Superboy, Donna Troy, and/or Animal Man)
- DC HeroClix: Wonder Woman convention exclusive figures
- Marvel HeroClix: Horsemen of Apocalypse convention exclusive figures (War, Famine, and/or Pestilence)
- Marvel HeroClix: Moonstone convention exclusive figure
- KA2 HeroClix: Colonel Stars & Stripes chase figure
THAT’S NOT ALL! Stores receiving the Con In Your Store Big kit also qualify to purchase up to four (4) of each of the following for-sale exclusives (while supplies last):
- Marvel HeroClix: Shuma Gorath exclusive colossal figure
- DC HeroClix: Trinity of Sin exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Captain America Sentinel exclusive colossal figure
The four exclusive figures above may be sold during a store’s Con In Your Store event with no restrictions!
To receive the Huge kit, stores must order $500 of qualifying product. The Huge kit contains the following:
- Two (2) of the Con In Your Store Big kits (see above)
- One (1) of each of the 2012 HeroClix Holiday figures (DC HeroClix: White Lantern Batman, Marvel HeroClix: Mephisto, and the Holiday Elf HeroClix holiday figure)
- One (1) Star Trek Attack Wing: Khan promo card set
- Two (2) additional random 2012 HeroClix convention figures
- One (1) additional random 2013 HeroClix convention figure
Stores receiving the Con In Your Store Huge kits may order up to eight (8) of each of the following for-sale exclusives (while supplies last):
- Marvel HeroClix: Shuma Gorath exclusive colossal figure
- DC HeroClix: Trinity of Sin exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Captain America Sentinel exclusive colossal figure
The four exclusive figures above may be sold during a store’s Con In Your Store event with no restrictions!
To receive the ENORMOUS kit, stores must order $1000 of qualifying product. The ENORMOUS kit contains the following:
- Three (3) Con In Your Store Big kits (see above)
- One (1) of each of the 2012 HeroClix Holiday figures (DC HeroClix: White Lantern Batman, Marvel HeroClix: Mephisto, and the Holiday Elf HeroClix holiday figure)
- One (1) Star Trek Attack Wing: Khan promo card set
- Four (4) additional random 2012 HeroClix convention figures
- Two (2) additional random 2013 HeroClix convention figures
- One (1) of each of the 2013 HeroClix Holiday figures (NOT PREVIOUSLY RELEASED: DC HeroClix: “Red Rain” Batman, Marvel HeroClix: “Vampire” Wolverine, and the Krampus HeroClix holiday figure)
- One (1) complete set of the DC HeroClix: War of Light 2014 convention exclusive Construct promo objects (56 pieces!)
Stores receiving the Con In Your Store ENORMOUS kits may order up to 12 of each of the following for-sale exclusives (while supplies last):
- Marvel HeroClix: Shuma Gorath exclusive colossal figure
- DC HeroClix: Trinity of Sin exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends exclusive team base
- Marvel HeroClix: Captain America Sentinel exclusive colossal figure
The four exclusive figures above can be sold during a store’s Con In Your Store event with no restrictions!
