Z- Man Games Press Release - Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – Team Challenge

From the Z-Man Games Website

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – Team Challenge

Did you know that you could play Neuroshima Hex 3.0 in teams?
Today we explain how!

OPTION #1: TEAM MATCH

This is a game for two teams of two players. It is not possible to destroy your teammates units. However, Modules and HQ bonuses also affect your teammates units.

The first team to destroy and enemy HQ wins the game. If none of the HQs were entirely destroyed before the end of the game, the team with the highest total of remaining Damage points wins. If two opposing HQs are destroyed simultaneously, the remaining HQ with the most Damage points left wins.

OPTION #2: DEATHMATCH

If a team loses their HQ during the game, the tile is removed from the board, as well as all the Units. This team is now out of the game.

OPTION #3: DEATHMATCH WITH AN OPTIONAL SCORE RULE

This option is a twist on the previous option where the aim is not to eliminate your opponents, but to attack them as much as possible, in order to reach a set amount of points.

At the beginning of the game, teams set their HQ damage counters to 0. In this option, HQs have unlimited hit points, and every time a team’s unit hits an opponent’s HQ, the wounds inflicted count as points that are marked on the attacking team’s counter. The first team to make it to 20 points is declared the winner.  If no team has made it to 20 points before the end of the Final Battle, the team with the most points is declared victorious.

Well there you have it! You know have an idea of how to play Neuroshima Hex 3.0 as a team!

Z-Man Games Press Release - Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – 3 Player Game

From the Z-Man Games Website

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – 3 Player Game

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 introduces a new way to play the game: the 3-player game. There are many different ways to go about starting a 3-player game. Today, we explore all the way that you can play Neuroshima Hex 3.0 is you just so happen to be 3 people sitting at the table.

OPTION #1: DEATHMATCH
While its name may suggest a grand battle that will surely not end well for two people involved, this 3-player option is more about negotiations than tactics.
If a player loses his HQ during the game, his tile is removed from the board, as well as all his Units. This player is now out of the game and two players remain.

OPTION #2: DEATHMATCH WITH AN OPTIONAL SCORE RULE
This option is a twist on the first option where the aim is not to eliminate your opponents, but to attack them as much as possible, in order to reach a set amount of points.
At the beginning of the game, players set their HQ damage counters to 0. In this option, HQs have unlimited hit points, and every time a player’s unit hits an opponent’s HQ, the wounds inflicted count as points that are marked on the attacking player’s counter. The first player to make it to 20 points is declared the winner.  If no one has made it to 20 points before the end of the Final Battle, the player with the most points is declared victorious.

OPTION #3: 1 PLAYER VS A TEAM
As its name states, this option will put two players against one (called the Loner). Will the Loner be able to outsmart the team?
The Loner sets his HQ damage counter to 20 and the team members each set theirs to 16. The first to destroy an opponent’s HQ wins the game. If two opposing HQs are destroyed in the same battle, the team wins. If no HQs are destroyed before the end of the game, the person with the most damage points left on his HQ marker wins.

There you have it! You will soon be able to play Neuroshima Hex 3.0 with only 3 players!

Z-Man Games Press Release - Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – Doomsday Machine

From the Z-Man Games Website

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – Doomsday Machine

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 includes a new, fifth, army: Doomsday Machine. It is very different from the other armies in the game. Today, we explore what separates Doomsday Machine from the existing factions.
The Doomsday Machine is an automated deadly trap; an intelligent security system protecting a secret base hidden in the radioactive wastelands. Its algorithm commands it to destroy any intruder, be it man, mutant or Moloch. What could be hidden behind such a powerful defense system?

Doomsday Machine is a very static army, it cannot move throughout the game, but its HQ allows for one of its units to rotate as a free action each turn. This army has many other advantages such as long-distance Modules, a large number of Medics, as well as a Trap and a Small Bomb that will clear some space on the board in case of enemy dominance. But these are merely small advantages for this army. The Doomsday Machines biggest advantage is its special units, which are able to redirect and duplicate Ranged attacks such as Doom Net Fighter, Fireblast and Tripler.

However, this army also has major disadvantages. The first of the being the almost complete lack of Mobility throughout the game. In addition to this, the Doomsday Machine has a small number of fighting units, a lower initiative, and fewer chances to start a Battle.
When faced with an army that cannot move, you will have to find new tactics in order to win the battle!

Z-man Games Press Release - Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – What’s it all about?

Neuroshima Hex 3.0 – What’s it all about?

For those of you who are new to the Neuroshima Hex universe, this article will help you understand a bit more about what the game is about and the storyline behind it.
Neuroshima HEX is a game of tactics, where armies wage continuous battles against each other. The world of Neuroshima Hex is that of a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by a war between humans and machines. The remains of humanity took shelter in the ruins of cities and organized in small communities, gangs and armies. Conflicts between such groups are not uncommon and the reasons of such are numerous: territory, food or equipment. Machines sent from the north constantly patrol the ruined cities. That is where a vast cybernetic entity, called MOLOCH, appeared. Great wastelands that surround what was left of the greatest cities are home to another enemy - BORGO - a charismatic leader who controls an army of gruesome mutants. One of humanity’s last hopes is the OUTPOST, a perfectly organized army that wages a guerrilla war against MOLOCH. Nevertheless, most human settlements, including the HEGEMONY, are not concerned with war until it comes banging at their door…

OUTPOST
The last regular standing army of humankind, the Outpost wages war against Moloch at its very borders. After several years of guerrilla warfare, humans invented numerous effective ways of fighting the dreadful machines. Their hit-and-run tactics are crucial while standing against a stronger opponent. The Outpost is never in one place, always on the move slipping away from ambushes and traps as one mobile city. Thanks to many victories against Moloch’s forces, the Outpost has taken over some modern technology and uses it against the machines themselves.

MOLOCH
The Moloch is a half-mechanical, half-electronic entity, which spreads across an area as large as several states. It was Moloch that brought about the fall of humankind in 2020. Now, thirty years later, its army is even bigger and more powerful. Hordes of machines search through the desolate lands in pursuit of what’s left of humans to destroy them. All orders are transmitted from within Moloch’s ‘body’, which consists of several interconnected artificial brains that scheme on the latest plans for the ultimate conquest. Despite its military and technological advantages, Moloch’s forces lack the natural intelligence and flexibility of humans.

BORGO
Since the beginning of the war, the Moloch has created numerous generations of mutants. Enhanced growth rate, genetic engineering and high combat skills are the essence of a mutant’s abilities. Their various breeds roam the barren lands fighting over every inch of it, quite often against one another. The scattered groups have finally become united by the charismatic cyber-mutant Borgo, who leads the horde against humanity under his defiling banner of Biohazard.

HEGEMONY
The Hegemony is a land ruled by gangs waging constant war for domination. The gangs set off to loot and kill are spreading terror far beyond the borders of the Hegemony. Strength and physical prowess are highly valued among the gang members, their favorite pastime being violent gladiator-inspired games.

Also know that Neuroshima Hex 3.0 is fully compatible with all the expansions that have been released for the Neuroshima Hex universe.
