There is just something cool about Angels. In some
games, they represent order in a chaotic world. In others, purity
standing against the corrupt. In Angels – Michael’s War, they are servants of God trying to defeat Demons from Hell. That’s cool.
Angels – Michael’s War is a stand alone card game for 2 to 4 players that is now on Kickstarter. It has cool card art, very simple game play, and can be played in under 20 minutes.
The game comes with 2 decks of cards, Infernal and Divine. Players get 4 Divine cards (the Angels) as a starting hand of cards, and the top 3 Infernal cards, (the Demons) are turned face-up on the table to form the Center Row for the game.
On a player’s turn, they draw a Divine card, and then play cards from their hand to try and defeat the Infernal cards in the Center Row. Each card in the Center Row has symbols of Faith, Hope, and/or Love. If the cards played from the hand have matching symbols, the player gets the card in the Center Row. All cards played from a hand and all cards taken from the Center Row go to a player’s Score pile. When the game ends, the player with the most Victory Points (the number on the bottom left-hand corner of each card) in their Score pile wins the game.
Go check out Angels – Michael’s War. It is being offered as a basic game ($20) and a deluxe game ($52) that includes an entire year’s worth of expansions plus more. No add-ons. No stretch goals. Just a light, casual card game about Angels defeating Demons. That’s cool.
